Child Search

With so many activities going on, we are always grounded with knowing that there are still so many children who need help and who are abandoned. We thank you for all who responded about their thoughts toward Frank. He is doing very well and adjusting with everyone; its like he was been here since the beginning. Our children do an outstanding job welcoming in any of their new brothers or sisters. The children took Frank in under their wings and helped him adjust. Praise Father!

When we saw Frank we were actually planning on seeing 2 more children, but with the busyness of the New Year and Lantern Festival holidays, we were delayed in seeing them. Early March we were able to go see them.

This is Abby (Feng Xiu Xian), she is 10 years old. Abby’s father died in a car accident 3 years ago and her mother ran away and never came back. Her grandmother died 7 years ago from a lung disease.
Her grandfather is her only living relative in Pingyu. He loves Abby very much; actually we dont know if we have seen this kind of love yet here. He has tried to provide her every need, but is getting too old (70 years old) to work anymore to provide for her. Abby currently goes to a primary school here in the city and every 2 weeks she returns to her village; this is very typical for most children in Pingyu. Her grandfather is a farmer and makes $15 a month with no help from the government. Abby’s school tuition is due this month and if they do not pay the $160 fee, she will be kicked out.

Abby’s grandfather came to our gate asking for help. When we first heard his story, our first reaction was to just give him financial help, but once we went to his home and saw that he has been giving everything he has for Abby, but that his home was really not a safe place for her. We decided that she really needed to come and live in our home.

We took Abby for her medical check up (see picture below of Abby getting an X-ray) on March 16th, and everything looked great. After her medical exam we brought her to the primary school to get her set up for starting school. She will be in the 4th grade.
In between the hospital check up and meeting the school head master, we brought Abby back to our home to show her around. When we showed her our library she squealed with excitement. She said she loves to read. She quickly grabbed a book and sat down to read.

She will join our family on Friday, March 23rd and we are so excited to welcome her.

Cai Xiang Yu

This is Cai Xiang Yu, she is ten years old. We are very interested in helping her, but unfortunately we cannot because right now we are held up with legal issues. The aunt Xiang Yu is living with is not her legal guardian and to become so is very troubling for her to do so. Please be lifting Xiang Yu up and her aunt.

The need is extremely great. Our 2 boys rooms are full so this past child search we asked the government to find girls who we could help. They could not find any because, sad to say, the families do not want to get rid of the girls because they can use them to clean their house, they are not as much trouble or expensive as boys are, and they can “sell” them into marriage when they are of age. They do not technically sell them but the families get a very nice dowry from the groom.
This last search we had to turn down seeing several boys who are in need. Last week before we went to go see Faith, a grandfather with a 5 year old boy came to our gate asking for help. Two days after seeing Faith, another couple came to our gate asking for help with 2 other boys that they know of that need help. We need your help. We cannot bring in anymore boys until we build our building expansion. Our building expansion will add 4 more bedrooms. Please be lifting us up for provision, we already praise HIM for it!
