- On March 17, 2019 Emma decided that she would not go to school anymore. She had a rough 1st year in high school getting suspended 4 times for various reasons before the 2nd semester of school had finished. It is law that children under age must attend school and being a government orphanage, no matter if we like this law or not, we must enforce it. We pleaded with Emma to continue and we clearly explained what the consequences would be if she didn’t. She chose to quit school no matter the consequences forcing us to terminate her contract and make her go back to live with her elderly grandparents in the village.
So after 9 years with us, all we can do is hope that a light was shown and that it will guide her path that she has chosen.
