2018
We celebrated our 12th Annual Summer Camp in Pingyu this year. We hoped to take the kids traveling and to invite other children to join us, but unfortunately the travel buses could not take any trips because of a few different reasons. Though we did not like it, we are glad that the bus companies and the government took steps to protect the people.
The good thing about our children is no matter where they are or what we are doing, they can have a good time!
This year we decided to divide the teams into two groups and finally give the kids what they have been begging to do for quite some time…have a competition boys against girls!

Our older children helped us out big time. They helped design the team flags, helped teach the younger kids how to play all the games and helped make sure they obeyed all the rules.

This years Summer Camp theme was:
This year we taught 9 Steps to Excellence. Nine ways how to not only improve your own life, but the lives of the people around you.
We do want to give a special thanks to Shirt Shack for making our shirts. They have blessed us with our camp shirts for free for the last 10 years.
The different teams had to use Self-Control as they worked together to see which team could keep the most balloons afloat.

and again…
we were very Faithful to make sure everyone was soaked:)
Another game we played was Throwing Insults or Throwing Complements. We explained to them that just because someone is rude to you, it does not mean you can’t show Kindness back to them. We had the kids pair up in groups of 2, as you see Gabe and Anna doing below. One child would throw a pickle to represent the Insult and then the other child would throw a marshmallow to represent the Complement , as you can see Wendy doing above. Teams earned points by catching the food item and if their throw was a good throw.
The Camp was a blast and the biggest reason is like we already said, our children are really Good and are very enjoyable to hang out with. Chris, Thomas and Sammy enjoying the time we had together with big huge smiles!!!
During our camp we take so many pictures that it’s hard to decide which ones we should show or not. Here is a link that will show a 10 minute slide show of more pictures, games and activities that we were able to play with the children. Please click HERE if you are interested in seeing more.
Thank you again for all that you do to help us spread love, hope, peace and joy to such wonderful children!
Blessings,
Ben and Michelle
