Field trip
Each week Michelle and the two others teachers at the Home of Hope meet for a teachers meeting to discuss and share how both the kindergarten and the first grade class is doing. In one meeting one of the teachers brought up that it would be nice to be able to take the children out on a field trip to experience more of the Chinese culture. We brought this idea to Nathan to see what his opinions were and he was excited about the idea too. We all decided to make Monday’s our field trip day, since I (Ben) am off work that day and can help watch the kids.
Our first trip we decided to go to the local museum which is located in the center of the city.
When we go we try to have one of the first graders hold the hand of the kindergartners to help keep everyone accounted for.
After we returned home Michelle got out the play-doh for all the kids to try and make their own pottery creations
The second field trip that the kids went to was to the park where a small traveling zoo came to town. They had a tiger, wolf, turtle, peacocks, turkeys, a very large rat, a snake and some monkeys.
The kids were allowed to pet the boa constrictor….this is the tail by the way
The zoo keepers allowed us to feed the monkey’s…but to be on the safe side we only let the adults do it.
We thank you for looking at our page and hope you enjoyed this as much as we did. The children have really been enjoying these trips and are starting to ask when and where the next adventure will be. We hope that you will be able to visit our page again for our next adventure to be able to join with them in some of their joy!
