2nd Phase Children
We thank you so very much for helping us reach out to these children. Without your prayers, financial support, writing pen pal letters and so many other ways that you give our children joy, we would not be able to give these children a home full of Joy, Love and Hope. Thank you.
Our family minus 3 housemothers and 1 tutor.
On August 23rd 2010 six new children joined our family giving us a total of 18 children,6 girls and 12 boys. The day before and the morning prior to their arrival, our home was buzzing with excitement; everyone waiting to meet the new addition to our family.
While the children and their guardians waited to go over contracts and do the formal part of their arrival (pictured above) our children could hardly sit back and wait to play with their new brothers and sisters. The new children were a little timid at first but our children really made them feel right at home. It was so cute to see our children literally grabbing the new children and very excitingly showing them around their new home.
At first our new children did not want to stray too far away from their grandparents so our older children went over to them to play. (picture above)
It did not take long for some of the children to feel comfortable enough to play on our playground.
Becoming Friends with George
George is our very large guard dog, which most people are quite afraid of, but he really is great with children. We chained him up at first so the children would not be too afraid of him. Then we brought each child over to meet George. As you can see below Lester was a little bit afraid to meet him so Eli tried showing him that George is a pretty good dog.
Once the contracts were all signed and all questioned answered, we gave everyone a grand tour of our home.

In the pictures below you will see each child with their grandparent(s) on their new bed.

When we first opened with 9 children our dining hall seemed way too big, but now that we have doubled in size we are grateful for the extra space:)
The simple things in life
When we first meet these children they hardy ever smile because of being so afraid. Then the next time we see them is during their hospital exam and I dont know anyone who smiles while at the hospital:) When Ellie (Feng Zhi Hui) arrived it looked like she could have broke down and cried at any moment. When Ellie was showing her family her bedroom Michelle gave her a new outfit and…….
….words can not describe the joy we felt by seeing her smile so big because of her new treasure….like we just gave her gold.
We want to thank you very much for helping our dream come true, but more importantly helping all of the children here to have a chance of a normal Chinese life. If you would like to get more involved and get to know the children more, please visit our “Sponsor a Child” page where you will see photos of the remaining children who need sponsors.
