Grand Opening February 27th!!!

DSCN1453

We made it! Our move was a success. 10 children from the first Home of Hope in Gongyi helped us get everything in our house packed up and on the truck. Not one cup or plate was broken in the move.

Jaxin, Eli and Tyler seem to have mixed emotions, well Jaxin is for sure. He is a little sad because he’s going to miss all of his friends in Gongyi, but at the same time very excited about having a big yard to play in and making new friends. Eli and Tyler still don’t realize that we live in China, during our many trips back and forth from Pingyu to Gongyi, on the way back to Gongyi they would ask if we made it to China yet.:)

Jim and Zak (who are college students from the first home of Hope in Gongyi) came here to help us finish up a lot of the projects that need to be done before we open our doors for the new children.

The Grand Opening will be on March 1st!

Before our opening the government told us about another child who is in dire need of our help. So now we will be bringing in 10 children, 6 boys and 4 girls. Let us introduce you to…..

Zoey

This is Zoey (Meng Yu Qing), she is a spunky little girl with a lot of energy. She was born on November 28th, 2003. We were introduced to her by the government. Her father died of cancer and her mother ran away. She is living with her Grandparents.

We have many children not yet sponsored. (So far, 7 have been sponsored) When we were back in America last fall, many of you were interested in personally getting involved by sponsorship. If you would like to sponsor a child, please visit the website and sign-up. As we will be opening in only a few days, we are desperately in need of the remaining 3 sponsorships.

Due to the lack of sponsorships and the rise of the living costs here in China we are unfortunately considering bringing in only those who are sponsored. This is a very sad thing for the children and us, but we cannot bring in all the children if we cannot support them. Please help in any way that you can, every bit helps.

If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please go to the “Sponsor a Child” page and you will see photos of the remaining children who need sponsors.
