Count your Blessings and name them one by one!
This month started off very rocky with Michelle calling home to wish her mom a happy’s Mother’s Day, to hear that her mom, who has been fighting cancer hardly woke up that day. Then when Michelle’s dad brought her to the hospital, the doctors told him that Michelle’s mom would not live much more than another 6 weeks. We want to thank all who gave financially for Michelle to go home and spend time with her mom and for those who have been praying for this situation. When Michelle’s mom saw Michelle, she sprang back to life…so much that the doctor was very surprised when they went back for a check up. He even said maybe that they might start chemotherapy again. He wanted to wait 2 weeks to see how she is doing. Please continue lifting up this situation!!!
Like I said above, we thought our May was going to be a hard May, and yes it is hard without Michelle being here, but God has blessed us with an abundance of blessings this month. First as you can see in the above picture, before Michelle left a Chinese family came by and bought all the kids a new summer outfit. As you can also see, the western young woman in the picture on the right is Kelcie Watson. Kelcie(a.k.a. Can You See) stayed with us for one month and while she was here she helped homeschool Michelle and my boys while Michelle was gone in America. Michelle being an awesome wife and mom wanted to make sure our boys and I had plenty to eat, so as soon as Michelle found out Kelcie could cook, she had Kelcie make several meals in advance and freeze them for us. Kelcie also helped teach English and played with the children daily. Thanks Can You See for all the help!
This is Feng Yin Hang (left) and his older brother Feng Liu Hang (right). While Michelle was in the States caring for her mother who is fighting cancer, the civil affairs contacted us twice asking for us to go and see if we can help these boys. Their situation is a little different than most of our children because they are not orphans. They live with their 63 year old grandmother and with their mother and father, who are both mentally challenged. Their parents cannot care for themselves little alone their sons. We are in the process of trying to help them. We usually try to have most of our children sponsored before bringing in any more new children. As of right now we have 9 children who are not sponsored. If you are interested in sponsoring one of our children, please click HERE to learn more about which children are available for sponsorships and how to begin a sponsorship!
We want to make special mention and give thanks for all those who make a one time donation or continually day by day, month by month and year by year to give towards our vision to, “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.†(Psalms 82:3-4)
We are so grateful for all who give to our wonderful children, who are so full of life. We hope that this post shows you some of that joy and happiness that you make in the life of a child.
Blessings
Ben and Michelle
